notels

Currently in research and development stage, notels is a brand new concept in listing sites. Sort of like HomeAway for but for post-modernists!

Definition

notel n. An exceptional, often architecturally designed, holiday and vacation rental property that draws inspiration from the design hotel phenomenon.

Origin

The above definition for the word notel was created by Garri Rayner as a cute and more elegant way of describing holiday and vacation rental properties, particularly the more unique homes.

Usage

The term notel was first used in the context of our Hotel Haiku project. A shorter way was needed for distinguishing holiday and vacation rentals from hotels. Aesthetically, it is important that the word notel is expressed in lowercase as it provides visual impact, along with meaning, when juxtaposed with the word hotel.
